The New Hartman Envelope Filter
Drawing inspiration from the Mu-Tron III, the Hartman Envelope Filter was developed with guitarist Mark Karan. This filter recreates classic effects that have been optimized for flexibility, tone and user friendliness. It contains controls for gain, mix and peak and hi-lo filter peak frequency switch. It is built with a plated-through-hole print circuit board and is enclosed with a rugged powder-coated metal. Furthermore, the Hartman Envelope Filter offers heavy-duty true bypass switching and foot-switchable sweep direction. The optically controlled state variable filter utilizes a tip-positive external power jack.

This filter comes with several factory programmed internal trim pots so that the user can tune the filter action even further. There are several classic filter effects available on this device such as chirps, flute-like and other horn tones and saturated quacks. This is achieved through the use of the second foot switch that changes the sweep direction. The filter gains its authentic response and timbre via the low-noise components in its signal paths. Although this pedal does not have a boost control on the outside, it does feature the adjustable trimpot internally. Only the strongest instrument signals can saturate the filter at its preset factory setting, but it can be adjusted either way to suit the user’s needs.
