The New 65amps London Pro – 3 Channels At Any Volume

65amps has recently introduced a new series of amplifiers known as the Red Line, and the first model in the series is the London Pro. Based on the original London, the Pro is, similarly, an 18 watt Marshall-inspired design running 2xEL84s in the power section.

There are two main channels to footswitch between, the 12AX7 channel and the EF86 channel, which can also be combined into a third sound for much higher gain. One of the neat features here is the independence of the two channels; when you combine them, the tone controls dedicated to each still operate on just their particular channel, allowing you to combine the two sounds effortlessly for a huge range of tonal options.

Another great feature in the 65amps London Pro is the Master Voltage control, which allows you to wind down the power of the output section – similar to Power Scaling – to let you play the amp at very low volumes without adversely affecting its tone and feel.

The 65amps London Pro is available in various formats, including a head and 1×12 or 2×12 combos. You can also buy special Red Line extension cabinets in either 1×12 or 2×12 form. It is a really great amp for anyone into the smaller old British amps, and with the various unique features it offers is sure to be practical for a wide range of musicians.
