New Paul Reed Smith Guitars
Paul Reed Smith recently unveiled their 25th anniversary anthology of guitars. They are an impressive collection.
The ME Quatro that at first sight stuns the eyes with its striking elegance and beauty, is made with the finest of woods, has an artist’s top, and a rosewood neck. The V12 finish, which took 12 years to develop, is clear and durable, but does not impede the quality of the sound. However, this guitar is not only a magnificent showpiece; it is a top performer as well. The 53/10 pickups resonate with deep tones no matter what the pickup arrangement. The hardware is top of the line PRS, and the ME Quatro comes with the new “pattern” neck which adds width and comfort to this high performance esthetically pleasing instrument.
The McCarty 58 is another of the anniversary compilations. Ted McCarty was a celebrity among true musicians. His experience and support greatly impacted the life of Paul Reed Smith. The McCarty 58 electric guitar is made in honor of this great man. The instrument has the “pattern” neck, which allows for the deeper clearer sounds, as it joins a family of other McCarty guitars that allow a musician greater flexibility in the music they choose to play. It has unfailing tone production whether the musician is playing very high or extremely low notes. It is a unique design, with a cut away body that is reminiscent of the guitars of the 50’s. With an artist grade, figured top of maple, the V12 finish, the best hardware PRS has to offer, and an array of colors that make a sunset seem dull, the masterpiece called the McCarty 58 has been unveiled.
The SC 58 vintage designed electric guitar is also celebrated this season. This musical instrument announces the blending of a classical resonance with that of a more modern sound; therefore, although the look is vintage, the sound is both old and new. It has a unique design that includes a 2-piece bridge, which creates more points of contact. The bridge allows for a thick, steady, and unfailing tone. In all of the frets, it delivers a clear consistent sound that hangs on for days. Even with just a single cutaway, the top frets on this guitar are easy to play. The V12 finish finds its home somewhere between acrylic and nitro, giving the myriad of colors that this guitar comes in, along with the sound, the chance to dazzle the senses. Jazz, blues, and many different styles of music can be accomplished readily with the SC 58.
The DC3 and the NF3 join the anniversary gala. The alder body on the three-coil single-pickup guitar makes the DC3 sings with rich deep tones. The single coil pickups are founded on PRS’s prize winning 513 platform. This gives the DC3 its bright multi-layered expansive sounds. The NF3 pioneers with a Korina body, and claims ownership of three Narrowfield pickups. These provide brilliant transparency when playing any style of music. Both of these guitars give the buyer the option of either a maple or a rosewood fingerboard. Nickel hardware, locking tuners, a “pattern regular” neck, and a V12 finish in a painter’s palate of colors, makes the DC3 or NF3 a musician’s top choice in the world of electric guitars.
Also enjoying the party is the new SE Santana. The legendary Carlos Santana influenced the birth of the new SE Santana electric guitar. It is the original guitar in the SE series that offers a 24 1/2″ inch scale length, and a 24-fret bound, wide mahogany neck. It dazzles with inlays of shadow birds and is topped off with a guitar’s headstock in the shape of an eagle. The whammy bar allows exceptional tones to dance through the air, while the pickup delivers balmy Santana feel good sounds. The variety of music delivered by this porche of a guitar, allows expensive notes to be played and appreciated by a multitude of diverse musicians, without breaking the bank.
No musician will want to miss this anniversary collection of new and exciting instruments found at Paul Reed Smith Guitars.
