Get Schooled On The Yamaha Electric Guitar

Forty years in the music and instrument industry and the company still continues to grow. A Yamaha guitar is always a great guitar to have around the house, in a rock band, and most especially when you’re starting a guitar collection. It has been in the industry since 1966 and has then produced some of the best quality guitars any musician can get his hands on. The company, originating from Japan, has spread all throughout the world with retail stores proudly displaying several models and a series of guitars that have been carefully and neatly crafted and designed to perfection.

Yamaha has gone a long way manufacturing good quality instruments for over forty years. The company has been running for almost a hundred years already. The creator and founder, Torakusu Yamaha began with his homemade reed flute and since then has been taking orders to make more and more instruments. The company has spread throughout the entire world and distributed thousands of guitars, pianos, basses, phonographs etc. The first Yamaha guitar was created back in 1942.

The electric Yamaha guitar, thanks to the innovations in technology like the World Wide Web, has become even more reachable and available through websites and Internet applications, online stores and shops, with information about every model recorded for instant access to the details about that model. The company has also produced some of the finest basses, home keyboards, digital pianos, and drums in the market, which can also be ordered online through websites like Ebay and Amazon.com.

Right now, Yamaha makes four different series of electric guitars as well as some Yamaha electric guitar packs:

Pacifica

Quite a few years ago, I had a Yamaha Pacifica that I really liked. Great little guitar for the $400 price tag at the time. These Strat and Tele copy guitars make excellent giggers or for just playing around the house. The Pacifica comes in the following models:

  • PAC112XJ – strat style double cutaway with one humbucker and 2 single coils (H-S-S).
  • PAC1511MS – signature Mike Stern Pacifica model. Features Seymour Duncan pickups for what Yamaha calls a smooth and defined tone. It also has a solid ash body and 7 1/4″ radius neck.
  • PAC012PAC012 – another strat style guitar with H-S-S pickup configuration.
  • PAC112JPAC112J – double cutaway strat copy with rosewood fingerboard and humbucker/single coil pickup configuration.
  • PAC112VPAC112V – excellent comfortable guitar body made of solid alder, 5-way pickup switch and vintage style tremolo.

  • AE500 – a more affordable archtop, the AE500 boasts a nice single cutaway design. Comes with a double humbucker configuration.
