A Kid Needs A Kids Electric Guitar

Back a few years ago, for Christmas, we got our son an electric guitar. Unfortunately, I didn’t do a lot of research and just picked one that I thought that he would like. I really should have thought it through a bit more because then I would have know about some excellent kids electric guitars that are available both in stores and online right now.

With excellent guitar companies like Ibanez, Squier by Fender, Washburn, J Reynolds and many others out there getting into the electric guitars for kids market, there are plenty of choices out there to choose from.

Let’s look at a few examples of some excellent electric kids guitar to get your child started in the rocking world of playing music.

First one that I looked at was the Squier Mini Electric. It’s basically the same as a regular Squier Strat except it is three quarters of it’s size. Heck, it even would work for me to take along on trips or vacation. I hate being without a guitar.

Ibanez has a cool looking kids electric guitar set called the Jumpstart IJM21 that includes the child sized guitar, a guitar amp and all the accessories your child needs to get started with guitar. Really great way to get everything all in a convenient pack.

Even Washburn has a number of 3/4 sized guitars out ready for your child to start ripping on and learning some music. The main one is the Washburn X5 which comes in three different colors. Excellent rock and roll guitar for your kid.

These are just a couple examples to look at and help you not make the same mistake I made when getting my son his first guitar. He was six years old and really not big enough to handle a full sized electric so I believe that got him frustrated and made him change his mind about wanting to learn the guitar.

In order to keep your kids interested in playing guitar, I believe it is essential to make sure they have the correct tools to learn the craft — and if that means a smaller guitar, that is exactly what you need. Best of all, when they grow out of it and into a full sized Strat, you’ll have the small one to take with you travelling or to hand down to the next kid.

Let’s look into some more examples of some great little guitars available for your kids to be able to play and enjoy playing.
